TV-aanbieder, skrywer en stapper Erns Grundling kom kuier by Jakkalsvlei! Erns stap al vir vier seisoene van die kykNET-reeks Elders ‘n pad saam met Jakkalsvlei. Met die huidige Elders: Viëtnam in gedagte berei Jakkalsvlei spesiaal ‘n Viëtnamese spyskaart voor. Erns deel in hierdie openhartige praatjie meer oor die impak van stap, pelgrimstogte en reis op sy lewe en loopbaan. Die praatjie sluit ook voorlesings in uit sy kreatiewe skryfwerk en topverkoperboek, Elders (2017). Hy deel natuurlik ook ‘n staaltjie of twee oor sy tweejarige tweelingseuns, André Jakkals en Henry Wolf.
Ingesluit by die praatjie is ‘n opsionele begeleide stap op Jakkalsvlei saam met Erns.

Restaurant:
- Bookings are essential for both Food & Wine Pairings and lunch.
- Please note that wine tasting is NOT available at the restaurant. We offer Wine
Pairings, where wines are served together with food. Wine tasting refers to
wine-only tastings without food. - All booking enquiries should be sent to bookings@jakkalsvlei.co.za
- Due to the high volume of incoming calls, we kindly ask for your patience.
Alternatively, please email your enquiry and include your contact number so that
we can provide you with a more thorough response. - If any of your guests use a wheelchair, please let us know when making your booking.
This will allow us to allocate sufficient space at the table for their comfort. - A drop-off zone and designated parking spaces for wheelchair users are available
to provide easier access to the restaurant. - We appreciate your patience while we prepare your food. Every dish is prepared
fresh to ensure the best possible quality. - Due to the high volume of food orders and the fresh preparation of every meal,
waiting times may be a minimum of 45 minutes. We appreciate your understanding.
Downstairs Take Away Area:
- We welcome walk-in guests and families with children
who would like to enjoy the outdoor area and let the children
play. Seating is limited and available on a first-come,
first-served basis. - No reservations are available for the downstairs take-away
area. - The area has two stretch tents and picnic benches, with
limited seating available. - Live music starts on 19 December from 11:00 – 16:00 daily.
- The takeaway area is self-service, with both cash and
card payment facilities available. Guests are required to
place their orders at the counter and collect them from the
counter. Please note that table service is not provided. - Our selection of wines, beers and cold drinks are available.
Please note that cocktails and milkshakes are not available
in this area. - We offer only a selection of pizzas, as well as pre-packed
cheese platters for two. NO restaurant menu items are
available in this area. - Children can enjoy our candyfloss station, snack boxes, face
painting and jungle gym. - Please note that wheelchair and elderly accessibility to
the downstairs area is limited. For greater comfort and
accessibility, we recommend making a booking in the
restaurant instead. - A drop-off zone and designated parking spaces for
wheelchair users are available. - Please check the weather before your visit. On hot summer
days, we recommend bringing hats and sunscreen. For cold
or rainy days, please bring jackets, blankets and umbrellas. - The takeaway area has seating available outdoors under
tents only. Please note that no indoor seating is available. - Due to the high volume of food orders and the fresh preparation
of every meal, waiting times may be a minimum of
45 minutes. We appreciate your understanding.
Wine Tasting in the Jakkalsvlei Tent:
- Tastings at the Jakkalsvlei Tasting Tent are available on a walk-in basis only, and
reservations are not available. Seating is limited, and all tastings are conducted
at the counter. - Food & Wine Pairings must be booked in the restaurant and are not available in the
Tasting Tent Take-Away Area, or any other outside area. - Each tasting ticket includes a tasting glass.
- Choose from 6 Jakkalsvlei Wines @ R120.00 OR 5 Jakkalsvlei Estate Wines
@ R180.00 - Guests are welcome to enjoy a wine tasting before or after their restaurant booking.
Please allow sufficient time for your tasting and ensure that you arrive on time for
your restaurant reservation. - Please note that no Wine Pairings are served in the Jakkalsvlei Tasting Tent or in
the outside area. Food & Wine Pairings are available exclusively in the restaurant
and by reservation only. - From 26–30 December, the Tasting Tent will be open until 18:00.
Additional Notes:
- We are NOT pet-friendly. Only registered guide dogs will be permitted, and prior
arrangements must be made.
• Private picnics are not permitted, and guests may not bring their own food or
beverages onto the premises.
• Details of privately operated shuttle services are available on our website. Please
note that these shuttle services are independent operators and are not affiliated
